Yealink WH6X Headset Training Mode (Permanent Conference)
This procedure outlines how to pair two Yealink WH6X series headsets for training purposes using the Permanent Conference Mode. This allows a secondary (trainee) headset to listen in on a primary (trainer) headset's calls.
Step 1: Prepare the Trainer's and Trainee’s Headset.
- On a computer, download and install the Yealink USB Connect software from the Yealink website.
- Connect the trainer's headset base unit to the PC where the Yealink USB Connect software is installed.
- Launch Yealink USB Connect and select the trainer's headset.
- Navigate to Device Settings > Advanced Settings.
- Enable the Permanent Conference Mode option. This will allow the trainee headset to remain connected to the trainer's base unit after each call.
- Note: If this option is not available, the headset may require a firmware upgrade. Within Yealink USB Connect, select the device and then click Update device.

- On the trainer's base unit, long-press the PC button until you hear a key press sound from the base.
- Place the trainee headset (while it is in pairing mode) on the trainer's base unit.
- The trainer's headset will play a DING sound (it helps to have on the trainer’s headset for this part). Press the Call Control button on the trainer's headset to accept the connection. The trainer's headset will play a confirmation sound: "new headset joined." The trainee can now listen to calls.
Step 3: Reconnecting the Trainee Headset to the Original Base when training is completed.
- Turn off the trainee's headset by sliding the power switch to the "off" position. You will hear a "power off" prompt.
- Turn on the trainee's headset by sliding the power button to "on," then pushing past that position and holding it to enter pairing mode. You will hear "power on" followed by "pairing."
- Place the headset (while in pairing mode) back onto its original base unit to complete the re-pairing process.
Step 4: Settings the software back.
